I'll predict we will get a journeyman Premiership striker like Shane Long that will be sold to us as a top Premier player over the years who knows the league and is a great additional to the team (aka the Snodgrass buy). I pray i am wrong but.............

Nil. G and S were happy with how we ended up last season , we could end up fourth from bottom next season and they will be happy. You only have to look at that four nil drubbing by west brom a couple of seasons ago in the cup, they don't give a fuck providing the register turns over.

Top strikers 0. They cost money. We'll get someone cheap and cheerfull and be told to be gratefull by some on here.

Depends on your definition of 'top' I suppose.
I think we'll get one top player this summer, although it may not be a striker. We'll get two new strikers with the intention/capability of starting games for us, I'd imagine.

It doesn't matter who you want or how much money you wave, top players won't be interested in a mid to lower league club that is not in Europe or likely to challenge for anything. We also don't have a recognised top manager players are eager to play for.
The only strikers you might get are overpriced young players wanting some decent playing time and a stepping stone to a bigger club or Chelseas loan system or aged strikers looking for one last big payday and guaranteed playing time.
G&S don't really control what 'top' striker we get, they have a wish list just like last year and the reality is lots of clubs are in a better place to attract them. Every club in the Premier League has millions.
We really need to produce our own players or get lucky with an unfancied player that comes good.
